Amaral, Huland, Castro Alves, Linhares & Barros Leal Law Firm, Laerte is responsible for managing the corporate and international areas of practice, with strong expertise in advising foreign investors, bankrupt estates, and companies operating in the real estate, tourism, hospitality, construction, and transport markets. Laerte earned his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Fortaleza - UNIFOR, a specialization in Business Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo - PUC/SP, and a Master's degree in International Law from the Lisbon University School of Law - FDUL. He is registered in the Brazilian and Portuguese Bar Associations. He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators - CIArb (London), the Vice-President of the Brazilian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ceará - CCIBAC (Fortaleza), the Representative for Brazil of the Deutsch-Brasilianische Gesellschaft - DBG (Berlin), a Professor of the LL.M. Business Law and Management at the University of Fortaleza - UNIFOR (Fortaleza), and an Arbitrator of the Specialized Arbitration and Mediation Chamber - CAMES (Fortaleza). Laerte has worked professionally in due diligences, business acquisitions, corporate restructuring, international finance, corporate conflicts, arbitration proceedings, company recovery, corporate governance rules, disputes on intellectual property rights, negotiation of international contracts, as well as the incorporation, transformation, merger, and split of companies. In 2020, he published the book 'From the Development to the Consolidation of the Legal Institute of Nationality in International Law’. He is fluent in Portuguese, English, Spanish, and has some knowledge of German.
