Every year, business magazine Apertura publishes the Ranking of the Argentinean Best Law Firms. Law firms are voted by their peers including partners of top law firms and legal heads of large companies.

This year the peer review survey was answered by 358 partners and senior associates from 90 law firms, as well as by 65 legal directors of top level companies.

Forino Sprovieri Dell’Oca Aielo (FSDA), the ABL member firm for Buenos Aires, has been ranked in the top 30th in the 2013 Apertura Best Argentinean Law Firms list.

FSDA Abogados joined the Alliance of Business Lawyers in March 2010. The firm provides full corporate legal services including mergers and acquisitions, civil and commercial litigation, product liability and consumer protection. The FSDA team has extensive experience in traditional areas of daily business advice such as commercial law, corporate law, tax law, labor law and litigation; as well as other specific areas such as high complexity litigation, banking and financial law, oil and gas, telecommunications, criminal and environmental law.

ABL spoke with Sebastián Guido Forino, Partner at FSDA:

Q: Sebastián, first of all congratulations to you and your team! Which aspects do you think have played an important role in obtaining this high ranking?

A: Thank you. I believe one of our main values is our commitment to deliver excellence in all our practices. We provide our clients with integrated legal services. In our attempt to facilitate and not impede our clients’ businesses, we always strive to get a profound understanding of their activities. This personal touch is supported by our creative vision. By thinking out of the box we find creative and tailor made solutions to help our clients build themselves a better business.

Another strength is our ability to assist clients in other jurisdictions around the world. Through ABL we are able to provide the necessary expertise in a particular jurisdiction. For example, when a client requires legal assistance abroad, we can quickly recommend good and reliable law firms, all of which we know personally.

Q: What is your typical client base?
A: Our client base ranges from small to mid sized local businesses to large international companies. We do a great deal of cross-border work for internationally operating clients. Our team has a very strong international and multicultural profile. Apart from our understanding of the local market, our clients benefit from our experience in cultural differences and multilingual backgrounds.

Q: Finally, what does this ranking mean to you?
A: Well, we do not need any ranking to provide the best legal services to our clients. However, it is always nice to know that your work and efforts are appreciated. This recognition motivates us to continue to strive for excellence and to do even better!
