Druces LLP Expands Banking & Finance Dept.

   Jul 02, 2014    | ABL News

Druces LLP is pleased to announce that Nicholas Fisher, previously a banking and finance partner at Osborne Clarke, has joined the firm as a partner.

Toby Stroh, Head of Corporate, comments:
This is a strategic hire by the firm to build on the recent success of our existing banking and finance law offering. Nicholas will play a key role in continuing the momentum that the firm has built up in growing this core service of the firm.

Nicholas has been a banking and finance lawyer for over 25 years, some of these being spent in leading and building banking teams at Simmons & Simmons and Osborne Clarke. He has particular expertise in leveraged and acquisition finance, the debt aspects of M&A, restructuring, turnaround and insolvency in a range of asset classes. Much of his transactional experience has been international and he has been involved in award-winning transactions. He acts for banks and other financial institutions and funds as well as for corporate borrowers. Through acting for a variety of types of client, he has built valued experience in several sectors, most notably in digital business.

Jeremy Dutton, who joined Druces in August 2013 as its full-time Managing Partner, explains:
Druces’ further investment in its banking and finance law services is part of a developing strategy to ensure the firm’s clients are offered competitive depth of cover and consistently high-value levels of service across all of our core services by experienced teams of collaborative and entrepreneurial lawyers.

Nicholas Fisher will be able to use his considerable experience to ensure Druces’ banking services are constantly relevant and valuable to a growing client base. He adds:
It is a very attractive proposition to join an already established team and to help develop and widen the firm’s finance practice. It is exciting to join an expanding team that has a mandate to significantly develop its finance and corporate practice. I consider that Druces is well placed and has the culture to provide a number of advantages for finance and other clients who value open and rewarding working relationships with a firm that is genuinely partner led and which has a focus on bringing high value and support to its clients.

Milo O’Connor, Director at Hudson Legal, adds:
Druces LLP is a long-established City firm. What surprises many in the market is the quality collection of entrepreneurial partners, who are extremely focused on the delivery of quality legal services to clients. It is a perfect match for Nicholas’ practice and skills and one which affords him the freedom to focus on the things that matter to the firm’s clients.
